Selena Gomez Went From Vamp to Barbie for 31st

Mar 15, 2024

Happy birthday, Selena Gomez!

On June 22, Gomez shared multiple photos from her blowout 31st-birthday party held the previous evening. To start the festivities, the Only Murders in the Building star went full vamp in a sheer red tube dress with floral appliqués, which perfectly matched a pair of strappy black heels with their own red flower embellishments. For her hair look, Gomez pulled her hair into an intricate updo, while letting a bit of bang and face-framing strands loose on one side. Her makeup look was equally sultry, with winged liner, rosy cheeks, and a nude lip.

Based on the rest of Gomez's snaps on Instagram, the evening was a night to remember. There was a blazing birthday cake that matched her dress, plenty of dancing, and famous guests, including Y2K icons Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera. The pop star simply captioned her roundup, “31.”

“Happy Birthday beautiful!😍 So much fun celebrating with you last night!🥰,” Hilton replied to Gomez's post.

But the celebration didn't stop there. Like most of us, Gomez has a case of Barbie fever. Unlike most of us, she was able to host a private screening of the Greta Gerwig movie with her little sister Gracie and a group of her close friends to alleviate the symptoms. For her part, the Rare Beauty founder wore a gauzy pink halter dress, plenty of accessories, and a perfectly on-theme pink lip. Hi, Barbie!

Before sharing a glimpse at her two-part celebration, Selena Gomez posted a birthday message to fans in honor of the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to help young people gain access to mental health services. “I am thankful for so much in my life and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we’ve been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @rarebeauty,” she wrote alongside an image of herself blowing out candles on a gorgeous floral cake. “Because of YOU we’ve been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people.”

She continued, “This is my true passion in life. People keep asking me what I want for my birthday, and I tell everyone the same thing please do not get me anything but if you want to do something for my birthday, please donate to the Rare Impact Fund. If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference.”
